A photo blogging and sharing social app inspired by services such as Flickr and Tumblr. This social app seamlessly integrates with Anahita™ and it is an ideal solution for the artists, photographers, designers, and people who'd rather express themselves in pictures than words.

Features

Batch Photo Upload - enables easy upload of a batch of images into your photo stream and provides the option of uploading them all in a photo album.

Multiple sizes of photos are stored - every photo that is uploaded is converted and stored in up to 5 different dimensions:

  1. ORIGINAL: original image size
  2. LARGE: area of 1024x2024
  3. MEDIUM: 640xauto
  4. SMALL: area of 240x240
  5. THUMBNAIL: area of 100x100
  6. SQUARE: 100x100

Albums - each photo can be assigned to more than just one album.

Album Slideshow - a slideshow is automatically created with all the images that are within an album.

Privacy Settings - you can set the privacy per image.

Commenting - all photos and images can be commented on. You can even comment on photos and albums from the story feed.

Works within all kinds of profiles - instances of the Anahita™ Photos work seamlessly with all types of profiles such as people, groups, projects, events, etc.

Smart Story Updates - stories are created when a batch of photos are uploaded or an album is created. When multiple images are uploaded the stories are grouped so they won't over populated the story feed all at once.

Profile Gadget - the profile gadget displays the most recently uploaded images.

Dashboard Gadget - the dashboard gadget displays the last and recently uploaded images by the people and groups that you are following.

Your Photo Stream - displays your uploaded photos in a chronological order.

Leader's Photo Stream - displays your leaders last uploaded image in a chronological order.

RSS Feeds - feeds are automatically generated for the photo stream, albums, and comments.

Tech Specs

100% Open Source - The Social App is distributed under the GPL3 license.

Built using the Anahita™ Medium Nodes - Photos and Albums are created by extending the Anahita™ medium nodes. The global commenting API is used to comment on photos and albums. This keeps the overall design extremely light, fast, and efficient.

Integrates with Amazon S3 web services - Anahita™ Photos uses the Anahita™ Social Engine's storage API and therefore once the social network is setup to work with the Amazon S3 service all the photos are also stored there too. This will benefit you in many ways, for example:

  1. you get yourself lot of inexpensive storage room.
  2. you can migrate your social network to a different server without having to worry about migrating the image files. Anywhere that you go, you can always point your social network to the same storage.

Customize the Slideshow - Using template overwrites you can use any slideshow libraries that you like. One good example would be the Rokbox plugin from the RocketTheme.
