Rackspace Cloud Files

I saw that Anahita support Amazong S3 to store files, I'd like to know if you guys have something for Rackspace? If not do you have plans to implement it?

How hard would it be to develop an apps that would allow me to connect Anahita with Rackspace?

Thanks

We could get Anahita storage to work with the Rakspace service too.

"How hard would it be to develop an apps that would allow me to connect Anahita with Rackspace?"

Developing apps for Anahita are not hard, but they do take some development knowledge. I don't understand what you mean by "connect" though. Did you mean using Rakspace storage?

Hi Rasting,

Thank you very much for your answer.

By "Connect" I meant using Rackspace Storage yes :)

"We could get Anahita storage to work with the Rakspace service too."

Are you planning to support it?

Thanks

Hi Helio,

Actually It's just a matter of writing an adapter to add the functionality to anahita. I've been wondering myself if anybody is using rackspace rather than amazon and if yes what are the advantages of rackspace over amazon ?

Hi Arash,

I'm still doing some research about these two services and I don't have a lot of data yet.

Some people say that S3's API is stronger then Rackspace, Rackspace provides a cloud files management interface while S3 is not as good as Rackspace.

Amazon S3 seems to be a bit faster then Rackspace Cloud Sites.

Rackspace CDN is bigger then Amazon S3. Then Rackspace has some comparatives between their platform and Amazon EC2.

Other than that I don't have too much data to make a decision yet.

I think it's good to have both options. I personally like the rackspace service better than amazon. I'll have a look at the API and if I could get few hours then write a plugin that would support rackfiles.

I've added the rakspace integration to the to-do list although knowing that there are several other high priority items on the way, we may not implement the rakspace integration right away unless somebody in the parnter's tribe decides to use it.
